Britain's smallest dog thinks he's a kitten

A miniature dog named Disney is only 7.5 centimeters tall and weighs as much as 405 grams. It is so small that it fits in the palm of its owner.

Disney was one of three puppies born on January 25th but stopped growing after 8 weeks of age.

Natalie Vanes, 26, from the West Midlands, the owner of Disney, decided to take her to live in her house, afraid that three other dogs would mistake the pocket dog for a toy.

After that, Disney became inseparable from Natalie's other animal - with her kitten Kira.

Disney plays with Kira's toys since the dog toys are too big for her and even steals cat food from her bowl.

The couple also sleep together in a special insulated dog basket in Natalie's bedroom, and they can fit together in a flower pot.

Disney weighs as much as a five week old Chihuahua, making her the smallest dog in the UK today.

Natalie tells The Daily Mail: "Disney was born a normal size and was completely healthy. Together with their brother, they were quite small, but given the small size of their mom and dad, there was nothing to worry about.

But after a while, her brother grew into a beautiful 12-week-old boy weighing 800 grams, and Disney weighed only 380 grams. That's when I realized how small she was. She is a normal, healthy, cheerful and full of energy puppy, just very small.

I have to be very careful when I take it with me. To keep her warm, I wrap her in a blanket, but it should be small and fit her petite size.

Fearing that other dogs would crush her, we took Disney to the house, where she became close friends with the kitten Kira.

They very soon became inseparable friends, and are always next to each other. Disney plays with tiny fluffy mice as dog toys are too big and heavy for her.

She also steals Kira's food, believing herself to be a kitten, and there is nothing more beautiful for them than to snuggle up and sleep together."

Today, the smallest dog in the UK is Tyson, a Lhasa Apso breed, standing just over 10 centimeters tall. He resides in Lincoln with his landlady, Rosemary McLinden.

And the smallest dog in the world is a Chihuahua named Miracle Milli from Puerto Rico, about 9 centimeters tall and weighing 450 grams. A tiny dog sleeps in a doll bed.
