Bodybuilder Rubiel Mosquera - a man with a phenomenal neckBy Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/bodybuilder-rubiel-mosquera-a-man-with-a-phenomenal-neck.html
Colombian Rubiel Mosquera is one of the most unusual bodybuilders of our time. The volume of his neck is an incredible 52 cm. For this, the guy was even given the nickname Neckzilla, from the English “neck”, that is, “neck”. Although Mosquera’s record does not appear anywhere in the annals of world bodybuilding, experts believe that today this guy has no competitors in the world.
Rubiel Mosquera's neck is so developed that from some angles it is simply not visible. If you look at a bodybuilder from a certain angle, it appears that his trapezius reaches his jawline. Some of the Colombian's colleagues in iron sports believe that having such a neck is... dishonest. In their opinion, during performances the attention of the jury is focused on this part of the athlete’s body, and other muscle groups are not objectively assessed.
But, most likely, Mosquera is simply jealous. After all, not everyone can pump up their neck like this, even by training to the point of exhaustion and using traditional bodybuilding steroids. The fact is that Rubiel’s peculiarity is a merit not only of him, but also of genetics. The guy claims that he does regular neck exercises, like all other athletes. But at the same time, it is especially susceptible to stress and has a special shape.
It is worth saying that the neck is not the only thing that is impressive about the athlete from Colombia. Mosquera, whose competition weight is 100 kg, has a well-developed shoulder girdle and impressive leg muscles. Despite this, evil tongues claim that the neck makes the bodybuilder’s body look disproportionate. This is again the opinion of envious people, since the athlete regularly takes prizes at the South American championships.
Rubiel Mosquera has a competitor dangerously approaching his record. This is bodybuilder and powerlifter from the USA Larry Wheels, who looks no less impressive than his colleague from Colombia. At one time, Wheels claimed that his neck had no equal in volume. But Mosquera posted a video on Instagram in which he measures his neck and asks to compare it with Wheels’ neck.
The IFBB bodybuilding federation joined the dispute. Its experts officially confirmed the advantage of “Nexzilla” with its 52 cm. The American’s neck girth was 50 cm. Thus, Mosquera became the second person in the history of bodybuilding in terms of neck thickness. The first place went to the athlete from the USA Jeff King, who could boast of 54 cm. By the way, in the 90s he also bore the nickname “Nexzilla”. True, Jeff is now 62 years old and he is not a competitor to Mosquera.
Bodybuilding can be considered a dangerous sport. Athletes, in pursuit of muscle volume, lose their sense of proportion and literally destroy themselves with huge doses of hormonal drugs and colossal loads.
