Behind-the-scenes requirements of famous musicians

Categories: Celebrities | Photo project

Photographer Henry Hargreaves has a talent for capturing human characters through objects and food. He recently created a series of photographs called Band Riders. A rider is a list of conditions presented by the musician to the host, which contains the specific requests of the performer, including how the equipment should be located on stage, how the dressing room should be organized, and what food and drinks should be backstage during the concert. Hargreaves had the opportunity to review some of these conventions and, finding many of them ridiculous, was inspired to create portraits of famous performers and bands from around the world through their detailed and often outlandish riders. For his series, he selected some of the more bizarre requirements and captured them in still life form.
