This is bearing fruit, but there is also a downside: millions of Chinese are forced to stay at home in order not to spread the infection and not risk catching it. This does not create global problems because of the excellent logistics of the country, everything is delivered to everyone at home. But the landscapes of deserted cities at once make an apocalyptic impression.
Apple has closed all its 42 retail stores, the world's largest casino has closed its doors for two weeks in Macau. Half of the Starbucks coffee shops have stopped working, flights have been suspended. The metro is empty, as many companies recommend employees to work remotely.
