Beach fashion "crazy twenties" was a kind of challenge to society. Women have bathing suits that expose their arms and legs. The fabrics from which swimsuits were sewn were still far from perfect. But, unlike the beach fashion of the beginning of the century, when a woman approached the water dressed from head to toe, the fashion of the post-war decade, despite the heavy woolen and stretchy cotton knitwear, gave women the opportunity to experience the beauty of recreation on the water.
In the 1920s, many Mediterranean beaches appeared and became famous: in Italy, on the islands - they are still popular today. Bathing cabins and separate beaches have gradually become a thing of the past. Everyone began to swim and in front of everyone.
Rest on the beach turns into a kind of social event. In the 1930s, beach culture became widespread all over the world, took shape and exists in this form to this day. Special beach activities appeared: bowling, tennis, badminton (volleyball, a much more democratic game, came to the beach later), various competitions. Including a fun beauty contest, which arose for the first time in the early 20s. This beach fun in the 30s began to be held at a fairly high professional level. The ladies needed beach sets, pareo capes, wide hats. All the beachwear popular in the 1970s was just a repetition of the models of the 1930s.
