Here is a list of the best films, the plot of which is written off on the lives of real people.

1. Zodiac (2007)
The story of a serial killer who kept the whole of San Francisco in fear for 25 years. With a competent presentation of the director, a series of crimes turns into a fascinating, terrible story of an investigation, from which it is impossible to tear oneself away even for a minute. Cast: Robert Downey Jr, Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Rufalo. Directed by David Fincher.
2. Shots in Dallas (1991)
A film about the assassination of John F. Kennedy in the detective-thriller genre, in which the events of this historical drama are explained by a worldwide conspiracy theory. 8 Oscar nominations and top-notch directing. Cast: Gary Oldman, Joe Pesci, and Jim Harrison. Directed by Oliver Stone.
3. Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
A film about the most famous criminal couple in history. About how "innocent" bank robberies escalated into murder and chaos. Although the film is based on real events, the images of the criminals are significantly romanticized, which just plays into the hands of the film. Cast: Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Gene Hackman. Directed by Arthur Penn.
4. Goodfellas (1990)
The story of aspiring gangster Henry Hill and his accomplices engaged in robberies and murders of anyone who gets in their way. A rise-of-the-mafia drama that follows the Nice Guy's criminal journey from start to finish. Cast: Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci. Directed by Martin Scorsese.
5. Brian Banks (2018)
A biographical drama about a football player who was unjustly convicted and sentenced to a term in prison, who, after his release, obtained a review of the sentence and, against all odds, continued to pursue his dream of big-time sports. Cast: Aldis Hodge, Greg Kinnear, Sherry Shepherd. Directed by Tom Shadyac.
6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
A cult independent film directed by American director Toub Hooper about serial maniac necrophile Edward Guin. Cast: Marilyn Burns, Allen Danziger, William Vail.
