By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/baku-master-faig-ahmed-and-his-magic-carpets.htmlFaig Ahmed distorts the patterns of traditional Azerbaijani carpets, "dismantling" their structure in order to build eye-deceiving compositions — for example, to create the feeling that the carpet flows down from the wall. The original traditional textile design is transformed into a digital mosaic.
Faig Ahmed lives and works in Baku, where he graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts. He used to work with videos and installations, but now he focuses on textiles and sculpture.
