Anti-fashion: fashion photo shoot on the contrary
Categories: Photo project
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/anti-fashion-fashion-photo-shoot-on-the-contrary.htmlPhotographer Steph Wilson decided to mock the strict and sometimes ridiculous laws of the fashion industry by presenting a new photo project.
"It's been a long time since I picked up a camera to make a photo project just like that. As much as I love my editorial teams, having seven other people on set can be maddening. All the time someone touches the models' faces, correcting them, and it's really hard to relax. You lose touch with the subject when a trillion people are spinning around it… Therefore, there were no hairstyles, no makeup, no stylists. Just me and Lily (Newmark), a model," Steph Wilson says about her project.

"Lily is my friend. We are both rude, nasty and love to undress. We wanted to do a fun photo shoot together where we just hang out and laugh," Steph says.
"I took pictures on the grass on the Woodberry marshes in London. I really liked that it resembles a post-Soviet place in the middle of brutal buildings against the background, and this feeling of "no man's land" on the banks overgrown with dry grass.
We were very hot, we were sweating and smeared with blackberries, we got dirty while urinating in the bushes, and Lily suggested we go to Shadwell. I've never been there before, but it's fucking great. There's filtered Thames water right in the city center, but it's absolutely calm, and very attractive young people are dismantling the fence mesh to dive from the concrete barriers that cover it."
