An unemployed Russian woman living in France mistakenly left six thousand euros in tips for coffee and a piece of cake

On February 16, 37-year-old Olesya Shemyakova, an unemployed mother living in France, asked for a bill for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in a cafe in the Swiss city of Ditikon. The bill was brought in the amount of 23.79 Swiss francs (one and a half thousand rubles), but the woman paid, quite by chance, 7709.79 francs (about 480 thousand rubles).

A Russian woman living in the French city of Mulhouse did not know about her mistake until she saw the bank account balance. "I just couldn't believe my eyes. It was obviously a mistake. I could live on this money in France for several months!"

And it turned out very simply — during the payment, Shemyakova entered her PIN code in the cost entry field.

Since neither the credit card company nor the police could help her, the woman turned directly to the management of the New Point chain, which owns the cafe. She was assured in writing that the amount would be returned by the end of March. And then they stopped communicating.

The network operator didn't just disappear. During this period, his company declared bankruptcy, and the cafe where the incident occurred has been closed since the beginning of March.

However, the brother of the founder of the network told the German newspaper 20 Minuten: "I can promise that the client will get his money back."

To the Blick edition , he also commented: "Of course, we need to clarify this first, but such things do not happen overnight."

Shemyakova is skeptical about all these statements: "I think they say all this to look not so bad. Nobody told me anything. Although the cafe manager has my contacts." The woman believes that they will disappear again as soon as the hype settles down. And no money will be returned.
