The problem arises when it is necessary to provide access to sunlight in the room and at the same time maintain privacy. Iranian architect Farhad Mirzai solved this problem by inventing an amazing screen with rotating bricks.
There is always a problem in office buildings with glass walls: how to get access to natural light and maintain privacy. Architect Farhad Mirzai, together with A.P.P Architects & Associates, designed a parametric brick screen that solved this issue.
An unusual wall was created for an office building in the Iranian city of Arak. The project used an algorithm to determine the rotation of bricks on the facade.
The gradual turning of the bricks creates the effect of a raised surface that looks different from different angles.
The exterior is decorated with another carefully thought-out detail: the short edges of the bricks are painted blue and green to emphasize the effect of rotation.
Parametric design is a popular trend in modern architecture. It enables designers to achieve futuristic shapes.
Bricks are great for this style because they can be placed as you wish.
There are not enough plants in big cities, this is a fact. But, fortunately, modern architects successfully find loopholes to solve the problem and green the space around. And even nondescript houses begin to shine with new colors.
