In May 2016, the son of American Heather Whitten (Heather Whitten) Fox got sick with salmonellosis, and her husband Thomas took the baby in the shower to make him feel better. Whitten, a professional photographer, captured this moment on camera and posted it on Facebook. The image was considered offensive and dangerous for children, and a woman can now be deprived of parental rights and the opportunity to even work with children.

Whitten explains: "I took some pictures. It was just beautiful. There was nothing surprising or unusual about it, he always communicates with children like that."

She liked the photo: "It's okay to undress with my son and feel sorry for him… It's important that you really take care of your children."

The woman shared the photo on Facebook, but the record was deleted. Then she wrote that in the class where she teaches, a sexual subtext was mistakenly seen in the photo. Her post was shared more than 32 thousand times, it collected 140 thousand reactions and 9 million views, but then the social network banned the picture again.

Many people liked the picture, and many were upset when it was deleted. Not everyone agreed with the decision of the social network, but one person went further and sent a complaint about the photo to the local authorities. A family with four children (seven-year-old Lillian, four-year-old Lina and two-year-old twins Fox and Persephone) was interested in the Arizona Department of Child Safety and the Sauarita Police Department.

If the police said they would not take action and close the case, then the children's rights representative came to the Whitten home to talk to the mother of the family. According to Heather, he spent the next few months trying to portray her as a "shameless, negligent and cruel" mother, drawing conclusions from just one conversation. The woman believes that the investigator's opinion was largely influenced by the fact that during the conversation, she began to breastfeed one of the twins without covering herself.

The charge against Heather Whitten states that she "neglected the supervision of children by posting these pictures on the Internet and exposing them to an unreasonable risk of harm." If this argument is considered weighty in court, then the woman will be added to the Central Register of the State of Arizona for 25 years and will be deprived of her right to raise and adopt children. She will not be able to hold positions where it is necessary to work with children or socially unprotected adults — not only in her state, but throughout the country.

Heather Whitten described the whole story in her profile on the GoFundMe platform, where she raises money to help with her civil dispute.
