Teacher of photography and art in high school on long island for 27 years and more than 20 years in the International center of photography in Manhattan — Joseph Szabo (Joseph Szabo) photographed American teenagers for nearly 20 years.

These photos have everything: emotions, longing, bravado, vexation, restless desire, sexuality, awkwardness, posturing and happiness. The world of American high schools, streets, parks and beaches.

The result is two books of photographs Almost Grown and Teenage.

"I wanted to show what they are," said the late Joseph Szabo.
