So far, its capabilities are, however, limited, but the authors of the development are convinced that they can really offer people clothes that will make them invisible.
A group of American scientists from the University of California at Berkeley created a prototype of the invisibility cloak, which turned out to be as close as possible to its description in science fiction. But so far, the developed system can hide only microscopic objects from human sight.

2. Technology principle
It should be understood that scientists had similar developments before, for example, earlier at another US university they created a system of “masking” lenses that redirected the sun's rays and made the object pseudo-invisible. The new development is an invisibility cloak to the fullest.
3. Direct competitors from Canada
The principle of operation of the new cloak also comes down to reflecting light, but this time it happens in such a way that the observer also sees a reflection behind the object. Thus, the gaze of the beholder "penetrates" as if through. As a result, scientists have already managed to hide individual cells from view.
4. Field trials
The prospects for the development of technology, of course, are very broad. Scientists hope to apply it both in the military and in the civilian industry. In the next 5-10 years, scientists plan to adapt the created method for larger objects.
The University of California at Berkeley said that an innovative material was used to "hide" the microscopic object. Which one, scientists are still silent, because the invention has yet to be patented.
