Amazing portraits of children made by their mom

Photographer Elena Shumilova creates incredibly touching and deep portraits of her sons: they immerse the viewer in the harmonious world of children, nature and animals.

1. A beloved and somewhat fabulous friend - a dog, a mysterious cat, funny ducklings and rabbits, on the bank of a river, in the rays of the sun or against the background of falling snow — it's hard to believe in this ideal picture of life, but at the same time it radiates natural warmth and a sense of cozy reality.

2. To create her stunning photos, Elena successfully uses natural colors and tones, elements of the weather and the world around her.

The children in the photo are her sons, and the animals are residents of her farm.

3. "Children and animals are the main thing in my life," says Elena. "I raise two sons and spend a lot of time on the farm."

4. "When I take pictures, I completely trust my intuition and inspiration. And I am inspired by the desire to express myself, although it is difficult to describe these feelings in words," Elena says in an interview with BoredPanda.

6. The rural environment, nature and its changing seasons also serve as an incentive for the photographer to be creative. "In the process of shooting, I prefer natural light both indoors and outdoors. For my works, any light sources are beautiful — whether it's street lighting, candle light, fog, haze, rain or snow — all this creates a kind of visual and sensual depth in photography," says Elena.

8. "After graduation, I studied at the Moscow Architectural Institute. She focused on creating sketches and painting. Apparently, these skills are a kind of base for my photography."

10. "I take pictures every day, and in the evening I process the pictures. Last fall, I felt that I had finally found my approach and style."

13. Elena started photographing relatively recently, at the beginning of 2012, with the appearance of her first camera. She is currently shooting on a Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a 135 mm lens.

14. The desire to capture as many moments from the life of her sons as possible makes Elena take photos every day and do photo processing at night.
