Lavender is a genus of 39 species of flowering plants of the family yasnotkovyh. This is a indigenous plant of the Old world, it grows from Cape Verde and Canary Islands, southern Europe to Northern and Eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, South-West Africa to the South-East of India. A species of this genus are grown for ornamental jewelry, as well as for obtaining essential oils.
