As the location for the plant, the company has chosen the city of Springfield, Massachusetts, for skilled labor. As a result, for ten years in the 1920s at the Springfield plant was issued on 3 thousands of luxury cars.
Allen swift of West Hartford, Connecticut, was known for devotion to the family business for the production of gold leaf M. Swift & Sons. Swift was born in 1903 and grew up in an era when the automotive industry was in its infancy. So the young man was quite understandable interest in the machines. At the age of 24, swift purchased his first car Franklin 1917. His second car was the Marmon. The third and last car was the same, due to which swift became a legend among collectors of Rolls-Royce, Phantom I is a 1928 model year.
Rolls-Royce was a gift from my father on the 26th birthday in gratitude for the fact that swift chose to stay in the family business, thereby allowing the two younger brothers to fulfill the dream and go to College. The father said that swift chose any car you desire. He chose a Rolls-Royce, confident in the fact that it is the best machine made by human hands. He was even more confident in my belief, visiting the plant in Springfield.
Allen swift recalled in a 2003 interview with that someone advised him to go to the factory. He was impressed by the quality of work and the number of tests conducted prior to release of the vehicle.

After buying the car swift several times visited the factory of Springfield, bringing his iron friend to the service. American not only was careful with Rolls-Royce, but do not let him waste away every day going somewhere until 1958. Swift also travelled long distances, and in 2003 estimated that the vehicle has traveled a total of nearly 277 thousand kilometers.
Allen swift owned Rolls-Royce 1928 issue longer than anyone else. In 1994, Rolls-Royce Motors even presented him an award — crystal "Spirit of ecstasy", the symbol of the brand (the same figure that adorns the hood of the car).
Two months before his death in October 2005, the swift has helped the Springfield Museum to buy a building to house the Museum of innovation. Today there is a Museum for urban history, where now stands proudly gleaming, Rolls-Royce Phantom I.
