By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/abandoned-hotel-in-japan.htmlAbandoned things, cobwebs and nature that has reached previously inaccessible places - abandoned buildings have their own beauty and magic. For this reason, tourists are happy to visit the ruins, not only ancient, but also modern. Among such colorful abandoned places that attract a lot of tourists, one can name the luxurious Hachijo Royal Hotel, which was once an ornament and an integral part of the volcanic island of Hachijo-jima in Japan.
This hotel on a Japanese island has been empty for ten years now. Closed due to unprofitability, it was thrown by people at the mercy of nature in 2005, but at the same time it was very well preserved.

1. Hachijo-jima is a volcanic island in the Philippine Sea, belonging to the Izu archipelago. The island is located 287 kilometers south of the special districts of Tokyo and belongs to the Izu archipelago, which is controlled by the Tokyo administration.

2. It is here that the abandoned Hachijo Royal Hotel is located, which still attracts a huge number of tourists today.

3. Nature has long defeated civilization here, and the hotel, abandoned in 2005, has turned into a jungle, where you can see the remnants of former luxury through centimeters of moss and grass.

4. This luxury hotel was closed, and then completely abandoned, exactly ten years ago. Nobody knows the exact reason for this, so over time, many versions were born, ranging from purely practical (the danger of a volcanic eruption) to mystical (mysterious and inexplicable things happened to hotel visitors).

5. Despite the frequent typhoons, Hachijo Island was very popular among tourists and used to be called the Japanese Hawaii. However, over time, the hotel became unprofitable, and it was closed.

6. Even after the closure in 2006, the Japanese film Torikku Gekijouban 2 (“Trick: Movie Two”) was filmed here.
