Sadik Kocadalli, a street vendor from Turkey, became famous all over the world in 2019. A video in which he tries to hold an umbrella during a hurricane has gone viral online. Then the guy flew with an umbrella, though not for long. But now he has a real chance to make flying his profession.

On that day, a hurricane gust of wind began to lift a large umbrella near the cafe where Kochadali and his comrades were. The men rushed to hold him, but two immediately refused this attempt. Only Sadyk, who was lifted into the air by the wind along with the structure, did not give up. Later in an interview, he told reporters the details of this case:

By the way, flying umbrellas are not safe at all. The one on which Sadyk flew a little, eventually fell on his colleague and broke his leg.

Sadiq Kochadali has joined the open recruitment to the national space squad and is preparing to become the first astronaut of Turkey. It turned out that he fully meets all the strict requirements and has a good chance of success. On May 23, 2022, President Recep Erdogan announced the recruitment of a team of applicants for participation in the space program and Kochadali was one of the first to respond.

In addition to perfect health, future astronauts are required to have Turkish citizenship, education not lower than a bachelor of technical or natural sciences and English language proficiency. Yes, applicants must also be at least 45 years old. All this was at Sadyka, in addition to an enviable determination, which no one doubts.

Applications to the space conquerors squad are accepted until June 23 inclusive. They say that there are more than enough applicants, but a lot of them are being eliminated. Out of several dozen applicants, the most worthy ones will be selected. One of them will fly to the ISS in 2023, and two more will become his understudies.

We have no doubt that it is Sadiq Kochadali who is most worthy of representing Turkey in orbit. Therefore, we will root for the brave man to feel the real smell of space.
