A Chinese transvestite who can't just go to the store

Meet this Sister Tomato (Sister Tomato), or Shenzhen Superstar Tomato (Shenzhen Superstar Tomato), as it is called in the Chinese social network Weibo. She dances on a pole in bars and nightclubs in China.

She likes to be called Sister Tomato more because she thinks her real name is ugly. Sister Tomato now lives in Shenzhen, a large metropolis in southeastern China. She dresses the way she likes, and does not pay attention if passers-by look at her and take photos.

Like most people who perform in front of the audience, Sister Tomato believes that she could become more popular. What is the easiest way to achieve this? Of course, in China it's Weibo. "I'm going to do some shopping and dress up very nicely," she told a photographer friend.

Later, her photographer friend posted photos of Sister Tomato, where she is in the beverage department leaning over the shelves in high-heeled boots, wearing a short top and leather panties with a cutout at the back, through which pink thongs are visible. These photos have blown up the Chinese Internet.

Pictures with curious passers-by in the background immediately spread on Weibo, where they were shared more than 4,000 times. They were also replicated by the local press, which provoked a large wave of comments, both approving and negative.

"Legs. How many women will envy them," writes one of the commentators.

"It's not just her high heels that catch my eye, but her panties are cute too."

Nevertheless, other users criticized the style of Sister Tomatoes and wrote that she had crossed the boundaries of what is permissible in society. "I'm sorry, we can respect special hobbies, but how can we say that it's not immoral? Brainless tolerance," says one of the comments, which has gained more than 1,000 likes.

The angry commenter continues: "To dress like that and go out for any gender and age is just insulting. Transvestites are no exception, you can't just walk around in your underwear, cut a hole in your ass and go outside. Let's not be overly correct. Are we not tolerant enough towards minorities nowadays?"

The commentator's opponents tried to refer to foreign experience and justified such an appearance of the Tomato Sister. "I live in the USA and have seen many like her. A transvestite is studying with me in class this semester," one of the response comments says. "But I've never seen people outraged at them or photographed like that."

"I once saw a transvestite salesman at Macy's when I was in the USA. He had spectacular makeup, manicure and accessories," writes another user. — He behaved naturally and kindly. No one around pretended that something unusual was happening. But my colleague lowered her head, trying not to look into his eyes when he greeted her and asked how he could help her. It was a direct manifestation of ignorance, and I thought it was very rude!"

"I think such people should be respected, because they don't care what others think, and they do what they want... Those who comment and laugh, how much more tolerance can you demonstrate to the world?"

Unlike some of her friends, Sister Tomato wants to be herself not only on stage, but also on the street. She said in an interview that she doesn't care about criticism because she doesn't break the law. She is not upset even by the criticism of relatives. They say that she dances well, but it would be necessary to change the style of clothing.

"I like to dress like this," says Sister Tomato. — Sometimes when I hear my favorite music in shopping malls, I start dancing, and people look at me and take pictures. Everyone is having fun, and then I just say goodbye and leave."
