8 places on Earth shrouded in mystery

1. Giant moai statues on Easter Island, located about 200 miles west of South America. The mystery of this place is given by the fact that it is significantly distant from other civilizations. And all because of the huge stone statues carved from the rocks of the extinct volcano Rano Raraku. Nearly 1,000 mysterious moai, as these gigantic statues are called, stare in silence at the Pacific Ocean. Locals believe that they contain the supernatural power of their ancestors. Legend has it that these stone figures stand guard over the immaculate hearts of the natives so that the evil of the world around them does not creep into them. 3. Uffington white horse (England). It is believed that this geoglyph [approx. the author - a figured or geometric pattern applied to the ground more than 4 meters long] 112 meters in size was created around the 10th century BC. The bas-relief, engraved in white rock, has been cared for from generation to generation by local residents, weeding out the grass so that this amazing ancient drawing does not become overgrown. 4. The Giant of Cerne Abbas (England) is a 55-meter geoglyph carved into the chalk cliffs of Dorset Hill, which depicts a naked man with an erect phallus and holding a club in his raised hand. It is believed that this depicts the god Dagda, who resurrects the dead, and is also a Celtic symbol of fertility. During the Beltane festival, various rituals were performed around the giant.
