Skateboarding was added to the program of the Summer Olympic Games five years ago and it is absolutely clear to everyone that this is a sport of the young and agile. At the Tokyo Olympics, the oldest skateboarder, Rune Glifberg – is 46 years old, but he lost to the younger generation and did not win prizes. However, this does not mean that there are any age restrictions in skateboarding – an athlete who is 73 years old lives and trains in St. Petersburg!

Very little is known about the elderly skateboarder – his name is Igor and he mastered the board back in 1981. Maxim Timukhin, a surfing coach, told about the 73-year-old athlete in his Instagram. He also shot a video of Igor's training, which is definitely worth attention.

It should be noted that an elderly man not only confidently stands on a skateboard and develops a decent speed, but also uses a rare and interesting riding technique. He stands on the board, tightly placing his feet next to each other and gains speed and enters turns due to body tilts in different directions.

You will not see this style of riding in skateparks in Russia and even abroad, where the culture of skateboarding began to develop much earlier than in our country. Maxim Timukhin noted that the board used by Igor is also unusual. This is a rare and very high-quality thing that you can't just buy in a store these days.

The skateboarder with 40 years of experience aroused great interest among the subscribers of Timukhin's account – the video of his training received more than 5 thousand likes. Agree, you don't always expect such a dashing ride even from young people. Igor is retired, so he can hone his skills daily without any problems. Who knows, maybe at the next Olympic Games he will decide to declare himself and become a world sensation, putting young skateboarders under his belt?
