7 exciting sci-fi movies to watch at Home

For fans of science fiction, we have compiled a selection of seven excellent, but little-known or underrated films: here time travel, dystopia and apocalypse.

Cinema has seen dozens of different variations on the theme of the end of the world and how people live the last hours before death. His version was also presented by the cult director Abel Ferrara, who prepared the destruction of the Earth due to the depleted ozone layer.

Recently, the Nobel laureate in literature Kazuo Ishiguro published a new science fiction book, "Clara and the Sun". Why not remember his past experience in the genre-the dystopian "Don't Let me Go", which Alex Garland adapted for a big novel.

This is a story about an alternate reality where the government raises special human clones to eventually become donors. Three such donors from a special boarding school form a love triangle, although they perfectly understand how it will end for them.

The film was once rated as not the most outstanding melodrama, although it is, among other things, played by a trio of talented young actors, an excellent story about humanity, social inequality and free will.

If you liked the recent cartoon "The Mitchells vs the Machines", then you should definitely try the penny-heavy indie comedy "Save Yourself!".

In the story, a couple of Brooklyn millennials decide to do a digital detox, so they leave for a week with their phones turned off in the wilderness. In rural areas, without Google and instructions from YouTube, it is difficult at first, but the characters still learn to live without phones. That's when they find out that they've been off the news for so long that they missed the alien invasion of New York.

"Save Yourself!" works well as a satire on modern society, offering a completely realistic comedic scenario of an alien attack-most of us will not even think of being a hero and will Google what to do.

The film is about the paradoxes and ethical problems encountered by time travelers, namely, the paradox of predestination, when the traveler becomes a participant in events that he tried to prevent.

"Time Patrol" is a modest Australian blockbuster about special people who use a time machine to travel to the past and correct the most terrible events and disasters in the history of mankind.

"The paradox of Predestination" becomes an important part of the German TV series — its characters know the ending of the story, but still try to fight with what is predetermined, not realizing that they are only directing events in the right direction.

The winner of the last Cannes Film Festival at the moment is a conceptual fiction about a scientist who, with the help of genetic engineering, brings new plants to the laboratory.

The last of them is a special flower that requires constant care, but in return releases a strange pheromone that makes people happy. One of these flowers, which the heroine affectionately called Baby Joe, begins to take over the world.

"Baby Joe" is devoid of nerve and offers the viewer not the most intelligible ending, however, it is an exemplary example of the original author's film, in which some see a boring sci-fi, and others-an original parable about what it's like to be a parent.

After the success of the TV series "Boys" and "Invulnerable" , it will be fair if the revision of the dark superhero horror "Burn, burn clearly" begins.

In the story, a married couple of farmers, who have long dreamed of a child, finds a capsule with a baby in the field. They raise him as their own son, but when the child turns 12, he discovers superpowers and a sense of superiority over ordinary people.

Formally, this is a dark parody of the origin of Superman, but "Burn, burn clearly" can be considered as a symbiosis of horror about a strange child (some "Omen") and rare superheroics, offering a look at the antihero.

Enthusiastically received by the press, but not appreciated by the audience, "sleeping hit". The story is about two brothers who once escaped from a religious sect, but decided to return back when they received a strange video message from an old acquaintance.

Arriving at the "family", the heroes learn that no one sent them anything, and most importantly, none of the remaining people in the sect has aged in the past 10 years. The brothers understand that the object of worship of the cult may actually exist. They decide to stay behind to explore this strange place.

The film is directly connected with the debut of the directors (another low-budget sci-fi "Breaking") - so the directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead develop their modest film universe.
