1. He only got $10,000 for his role in Star Wars.
It may seem crazy now, but as an unknown actor at the time, he only received $10,000 for his role in the Star Wars movie. When you think he made about $40 million for the latest Indiana Jones movie, it's obvious how successful he's become. His portrayal of Han Solo was such a hit that he got big pay raises in every subsequent Star Wars movie. He earned $100,000 for The Empire Strikes Back and $500,000 for Return of the Jedi.

2. He loves solitude.
Ford has never been a classic Hollywood star in his personal life. He caused quite a stir in the 2000s when he was spotted in a narrowboat on a canal in England. He seemed to prefer this type of holiday with his family, rather than a plane trip to Cannes, like most other movie stars. Stopping in the North Wales town of Llangollen, he was spotted at a local shop buying sugar and other groceries.

3. He is a real hero.
It would seem that Ford is not just an action hero on the screen. As an experienced helicopter pilot, he has used his helicopter many times. Ford took to the air to find and rescue injured hikers near his ranch in Idaho. Also more than once he looked for the lost Boy Scouts.

4. He worked with The Doors.
At first, trying to break into the film industry in the 1970s, Ford had little success. This forced him to look for other ways to earn money. As a carpenter, he also worked with the rock band The Doors. Ford recently recalled that he had a cool time with them, and he liked this period.

5. He might not have played Indiana Jones.
Funny enough, they wanted to cast Tom Selleck, but Lucas eventually convinced Spielberg to use Ford. This proved to be a great move for all involved as the franchise grew into one of the most profitable franchises in Hollywood history.

6. He is incredibly rich.
Ford's net worth is currently believed to be $210 million. When you remember that he starred in some of the biggest box office blockbusters, it's easy to see why. All this allows him to live without thinking about anything and indulge his love of adventure. Ford has amassed a large collection of motorcycles, cars, and airplanes, which he loves very much.
