3. Hemu - one of the most picturesque villages in China
Hemu Village is one of the most picturesque villages in China according to China National Geography. Due to the long winter in the area, Hemu is only open to tourists from June to October. The best time to visit is the beginning of June, when nature is just waking up, the meadows are covered with thousands of colorful flowers. Hamu village is located in the valley of the Kanas and Hamu rivers between majestic mountains at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level. Located in Burchun County in the very north of Xinjiang, surrounded by cliffs and massive forests, until recently it was completely isolated from the outside world.
4. Jiuzhaigou Valley
The Jiuzhaigou Valley is a natural reserve in the north of Sichuan Province, in the southwestern part of China. The valley is famous for its cascading waterfalls and picturesque lakes. Jiuzhaigou Valley includes three giant lowlands, which are also called valleys because of their size. These are the Rise, Zecheva and Shuzheng valleys. Among the main attractions of these places are the Ancient Forest, Swan Lake (which is also called Long - it stretches over 2 km in length), Grass Lake (so named because its surface is covered with vegetation), Lake and Panda Falls (two-colored lake with cascading three-level waterfalls), Five Flowers Lake (a shallow lake with water of different shades), Mirror Lake (absolutely quiet lake, reflecting the beauty of the surrounding nature).
5. Yangtze River
The longest river in Asia. It houses the Three Gorges Dam, which is the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world. Many believe that the river separates Northern and Southern China. Both areas are very different in climate, culture, economy and natural environment.
6. Lake of a Thousand Islands
Qiandiaohu Lake is located 150 kilometers from the city of Hangzhou. There are more than 400 small and large picturesque islands on the lake. Qiandaohu is an artificial lake. It appeared in the late 50s of the last century as a result of blocking the river for the construction of a hydroelectric power station. The total area of the lake district is 573 square kilometers, which is the largest freshwater lake in eastern China.
