But this is far from the case — the world of successful people conceals many terrible secrets and disgusting atrocities. The stories of the stars who became victims of murders once again confirm that in the face of death, everyone is equal and both an ordinary worker and a world-famous celebrity can become a victim of crime.
The murder of Sharon Tate and her guests took place in August 1969. But this crime was so terrible that they still talk about it. 26-year-old Tate - model, actress and wife of Hollywood director Roman Polanski, was expecting her first child. Her husband was on set in London and was about to arrive. But on August 8, 1969, he called and said that he would stay in Europe for a while.
In the evening of the same day, guests gathered at Sharon's house — Wojtek Frykowski, Abigail Folger and Jay Sebring. There were supposed to be two more sisters of the actress, but they did not come and therefore remained alive. On the night of August 8-9, members of the "Menson Family" sect broke into the mansion where a small party was taking place.
There were four attackers and three of them were women. Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, Linda Kasabian and Charles Watson killed everyone in the Tate house, inflicting a total of 102 stab wounds on their victims. Sharon Tate was stabbed 16 times, after which her body was suspended from a ceiling beam. On the front door, one of the killers wrote "Pig" in the actress' blood.
The cultists also killed a dog that was in the house and a random guest who drove out of the gate by car. The housekeeper found the bodies of the victims early in the morning. Less than a week later, all the participants in the massacre and their mastermind Charles Manson were arrested. Some of the "Family" are still living out their days in cells for life prisoners. Manson himself died in prison on November 19, 2017 from cancer at the venerable age of 83.
Enmity between clans of rappers and even individual performers is quite common. But if in ordinary show business stars weave intrigues and in the worst case drag each other by the hair, but in the world of hip-hop they often kill. One of the best rappers in history, Tupac, also fell victim to competition Shakur.
On September 7, 1996, Tupac Shakur and his manager Shug Knight went to a boxing match between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon in Las Vegas. By the way, Tupac and Tyson were friends and the boxer entered the ring to the rapper's tracks. Mike won that day, as usual, and Shakur and Knight congratulated him first.
After the fight, the hip-hop star and his manager went to the MGM Grand Hotel. There, Tupac's friends just beat up a guy from a hostile group, Orlando Anderson. From there, Tupac and Shug drove to Club 662 in a BMW car. Knight was driving, and the rapper was in the passenger seat.
At 23:15, a white Cadillac with tinted windows caught up with Knight's car. From the window of the car, an unknown person fired four shots, aiming at the passenger. All the bullets hit Shakur: two in the chest, one in the thigh and arm. Suge Knight escaped with a slight head wound from a shard of car glass.
The rapper was quickly taken to the nearest hospital. He did not seem to be dying — Tupac desperately scolded the police and even tried to get up from the gurney. The musician was persuaded to calm down and put into an artificial coma. Doctors believed that his life was no longer in danger, but it was not so. Internal bleeding, not noticed by surgeons, led the patient to death. On September 13, at 04:03, Tupac Shakur died of respiratory failure.
The rapper's killer was never found. But in 2018, former gangster Dwayne Keith Davis, the uncle of the same beaten Anderson, said that Tupac Shakur was shot by his nephew. There is no one to ask, since Orlando Anderson himself was stuffed with lead during the next showdown in 1998.
Rapper Christopher Wallace was one of Tupac Shakur's main enemies. It was even rumored that he was the one who incited Anderson to murder. But we won't find out the truth, since this American rap star was also killed. On March 9, 1997, Wallace was shot under very similar circumstances in Los Angeles.
Notorious was returning from a party with friends when he was shot six times from a passing car. The rapper was injured four times, three of which were not fatal. The first dust hit the left forearm. The second is in the back: she went out over her shoulder, passing all the vital organs. The third is in the left thigh.
Wallace was killed by the fourth bullet, which hit his right thigh. It passed diagonally through the musician's entire body: it pierced the colon, liver, heart and upper lobe of the left lung, and then got stuck in the area of the left shoulder. Christopher had no chance. His murder, despite many witnesses, was never solved.
The legendary member of The Beatles was shot dead on December 8, 1980 on the doorstep of his home in New York. That evening, the musician and his wife Yoko Ono were returning home from the recording studio. They were approaching the entrance when shots rang out. Yoko screamed, and John fell to the asphalt. The wounded musician managed to get to the concierge desk and told him: "I was shot at."
The police arrived very quickly, but there was no time to wait for an ambulance. Lennon, choking on blood, was put in the back seat of a police car and taken to the hospital. John's pulse was still being felt, and doctors began resuscitation measures. But after 20 minutes it became clear that they did not bring any result. At 23:15, the legendary musician's heart stopped.
The man who shot Lennon, 25-year-old Mark Chapman, did not even try to escape. The police caught him at the scene of the crime reading his favorite book "The Catcher in the Rye". He explained Lennon's murder simply — John was his double and therefore it was necessary to eliminate him.
Chapman turned out to be mentally ill, but not so much that he was not responsible for his actions. He was a big fan of Lennon's work, and just a few hours before the murder, the musician gave him an autograph. Mark Chapman is currently serving a life sentence. 10 of his clemency petitions were rejected.
The killer of designer Gianni Versace had no motive. Andrew Cunanan was a man with a disturbed psyche and a passionate admirer of the master. The tragedy took place in Miami on the morning of July 15, 1997. Versace decided to take a little walk, and the killer was already waiting for him at the villa of the designer Casa Casuarina.
Andrew started shooting when the victim returned from a walk with newspapers in his hands and began to open the door with a key. The killer ran up to the designer and started shooting at him from a minimum distance. A miss in this case was excluded.
The first bullet hit Versace in the neck on the left, slightly below the ear. She broke the spinal cord and came out on the opposite side of the neck. After that, she hit a cast-iron gate and ricocheted a bird that fell in front of the house.
Andrew Cunanan fired the second shot at the fashion designer in the face. This bullet destroyed the brain and remained in the skull. Gianni Versace was beyond saving. The psychopathic killer escaped without hindrance and was arrested only a week later.
