The international Day of the left-handed is celebrated on August 13. This Day is intended to draw public attention to the problems faced by lefties in the right-handed world; to attract the attention of designers, manufacturers and sellers to the need to take into account the convenience of lefties when using various objects; to dispel the prejudices and superstitions that have surrounded lefties for centuries in various cultures; to encourage scientific research in the field of studying the phenomenon of left-handedness.

15% of people on our planet are born left-handed. That is, for every seventh person, the right hand is not a priority when performing any household chores, writing, or personal needs. Despite the fact that lefties are treated loyally and no longer try to retrain them, the life of these people still cannot be called easy.

It is not very convenient to write in such a notebook: the left hand always lies on a spiral that digs into the skin when you press the pen.

Musical instruments are also difficult for left-handed people to use, especially the guitar. There are often no left-handed versions of the instrument you like (or be prepared to pay 50% more than for a regular guitar), and most tablatures, musical notations and lessons that can be found on the web are written for right-handed guitarists.

Of course, when you Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney and Kurt Cobain, who, by the way, were also left-handed, you can make any guitar to order. Ordinary and especially novice musicians have a very hard time.

The gearshift lever, radio, rear view mirror, brake pedal are designed for use on the right. Driving a car for a left—handed person is a more time-consuming task than for right-handed people.
