By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/10-most-amazing-beaches-in-the-world1.htmlWe present you a selection of amazing beaches — but today these are not standard holiday destinations, but really unusual places. Some of them appeared as a result of human activity, others can be called miracles created by nature itself.
1. Benagil Beach, Portugal
The Portuguese beach of Benagil is located near the Algarve resort, located in the south of the country on the Atlantic Ocean coast. Photographers, romantics and couples from all over the world come here to admire the fantastic beauty of the Algarve Cave, which can only be reached from the sea.
An arched entrance leads to the cave, and in its dome there is a large round hole through which sunlight penetrates, creating a unique atmosphere.
2. Hidden Beach, Mexico
The Hidden Beach on the island of Marieta, which is just a few kilometers from the coast of Mexico, is called one of the most picturesque places on earth.
In the early 1900s, the island was used by the Mexican government for military tests, and not so long ago, tourists learned about it, who discovered an amazing secluded beach, covered in a circle with natural rocky formations that protect its guests from the scorching sun. To get to the beach, visitors will have to swim through a short tunnel.
Thanks to photos on the Internet and social networks, the beach was known all over the world, and fans of the place gave it a new romantic name – Playa De Amor, or the Beach of Love.
3. Pink Beach, Bahamas
The Bahamas is basically a paradise place to relax, but on one of the islands of the archipelago, an unforgettable picture awaits tourists, namely the landscapes of Pink Sands Beach – an amazing beach with pink sand.
Pink Sands Beach stretches along the shore of Harbor Island for almost 5 km, and the sand here is painted in a rich pink color. This unusual shade of the beach is given by particles of clam shells and the smallest fragments of coral that mix with the sand.
The construction of any structures on this beach is prohibited. The landscape is complemented only by tall palm trees and sun beds for vacationers. Forbes magazine named Pink Sands Beach the most beautiful beach in the world.
4. Glass Beach, California
A long time ago, there was a garbage dump on one of the beaches on the coast of California. Household waste, glass and even broken cars have been accumulating for years near the coastline in the Fort Bragg area.
Over time, some of the garbage was removed, another was burned, and fragments of bottles and glasses remained. Over time, the ocean has sharpened their sharp corners, and on the surface of the beach there are colorful pieces of glass that look like cut precious stones.
5. Cathedral Beach, Spain
The Spanish beach of Praia das Catedrais is located near the town of Ribadeo, in the province of Lugo (Galicia). Its unusual name comes from the rocky formations, the arches of which are similar to the arches of Gothic cathedrals.
If you wait for the low tide, you can wander along the majestic stone corridors, covered with soft, moist sand, and look into the caves, which are protected from prying eyes by the sea at high tide.
6. Koekohe Beach, New Zealand
The main attraction of the New Zealand Koekohe beach is huge boulders of almost perfect round shape Moeraki Boulders. According to scientists, they were formed as a result of coastal erosion about 60 million years ago, and the formation of large boulders took at least 4 million years.
People with a good imagination believe that Moeraki Boulders are nothing more than fossilized dinosaur eggs.
7. Punaluu Black Beach, Hawaii
Located between the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park and the small town of Naalehu, Punaluu Black Sand Beach is considered the blackest beach in the world and is a truly unforgettable sight.
Coconut palms border a dark sandy edge formed from basalt, a volcanic substance that has fallen into the sea as a result of eruptions.
It is forbidden to take sand from Punalu as a souvenir. Locals tell terrible stories about a strict goddess who will unleash her anger and send misfortunes to everyone who takes a piece of the beach with them, and in confirmation of their words they show tourists a collection of small bottles that were allegedly brought back by disobedient travelers.
8. Vaadhu Atoll, Maldives
On this beach, it seems that there is no border between the sky and the sea. When night falls, billions of tiny lights light up with a blue light at the water's edge. This bioluminescence is an amazing phenomenon when living microorganisms (phytoplankton) react to oxygen and convert their energy into soft light, illuminating the surf.
9. Shell Beach, Australia
The picturesque Shell Beach, located on the eastern side of the Peron Peninsula, has a length of almost 60 km. Instead of sand, it is covered with trillions of white shells-the shells of tiny Fragum erugatum mollusks.
The water in the bay is very salty, and other organisms could not adapt to it, but these mollusks felt great and multiplied in incredible numbers. The remains of their vital activity covered kilometers of the coastal line, and now tourists are happy to come here for beautiful photos.
10. Maho Beach, Saint Martin
Tourists who visit this beach on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin are waiting for an amazing sight: here planes land directly over the heads of vacationers. The thing is that the end of the runway of the Princess Juliana International Airport is located right near Maho. Since the aircraft land as close as possible to its beginning, tourists have a unique opportunity to examine the flying liner in all details.
Due to the constant noise of the engines, there are almost no lovers of luxuriating on the golden sand of Maho, but there are plenty of hunters for unique shots. For example, with the appropriate angle, you can easily "catch" the plane by the tail.
