And if our family and friends spend so much time outdoors, then it's a good idea to update this open space, make it pleasing to the eye, while not hitting the family budget. In this issue you will find ten ideas for decorating your terrace and garden. It is worth experimenting with fabric, light, color and textures and adding unique decor details. And then, perhaps, you will no longer want to go into the house.

1. Carpets.
By covering the floor of the terrace with carpets or rugs, you can create a more intimate and friendly atmosphere. Choose between neutral colors or bold patterns. Of the materials, it is better to give preference to something natural, for example, sisal or straw. (Comstock Images/Comstock/Getty Images)
2. Atmospheric lighting.
Nothing will create a romantic summer mood like a garland of white lanterns specially designed for the street. Hang garlands around the site or decorate the roof and a nearby tree with them. Another great move is small torches that can be placed around the perimeter of the terrace. You can also use small candles-tablets. (Ryan McVay/Digital Vision/Getty Images)
3. Pillows and textiles.
Now on sale you can find a wide variety of pillows, covers for chairs and tablecloths with different patterns. But if you still didn’t find what you wanted, you can make the pillows of your dreams with your own hands, using water-repellent materials so that they are not afraid of rain. 4. Paint in a spray can is your faithful assistant.
A very inexpensive way to decorate outdoors. Use spray paint to update old furniture, pots, candlesticks and trays. Choose colors that match the interior of your home or play with bright colors. This is a great way to let your creativity run wild without buying any new furnishings. In addition, you can change the color scheme every season. (Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images)
5. Jewelry.
Decorating a terrace and garden can be quite a challenge, as the accessories need to be able to exist outdoors. Look out for metal art pieces that can be hung on the walls of your home from the outside. And from shells, stones or glass, you can make your own “singing winds”. Natural materials like plants and rocks also look great outdoors. You can give the site an exotic look, using for example ... cacti to decorate it. (Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images)
6. Plates and containers.
Plastic plates are no longer what they used to be. After all, now there are so many colors and shapes that there is plenty to choose from - floral, graphic patterns, just bright colors. Experiment with your dishes. For example, you can make a bucket from a ceramic flower pot to cool beer or wine by filling it with ice. (Goodshoot/Goodshoot/Getty Images)
7. Pieces of furniture.
An inexpensive way to update the interior of a terrace or yard is to use existing old pieces of furniture that used to serve you inside the house, painting them with a matte paint that prevents damage from dampness and sunlight. If you have metal furniture, leave everything as it is - you will always have time to paint over its surface as the environment affects it. (Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images)
8. Hammock.
A hammock is always associated with a lazy summer vacation. Whether made from rope or fabric, a hammock is a great way to create a place to take a sweet nap after a heavy meal or just sit and relax. To avoid a hilarious fall in front of others, remember that first you need to sit on a hammock, like on a chair, then straighten it from behind, and only then lie down. 9. Fire.
What could be cozier than an evening sitting by the fire under the stars? By the open flame you can sit with friends or fry something delicious. The easiest way to make a hearth is to dig a hole and line the walls with refractory bricks. (Botanica/Getty Images)
10. Storage.
If you decide to breathe new life into your terrace, don't forget about storage space. An old wooden crate can be a beautiful toy container or part of a homemade shelf. Wicker baskets can hold gardening tools, and a small ladder is a great way to arrange plant pots. (Martin Poole/Digital Vision/Getty Images)
