Young genius: An 8-year-old boy from Belgium goes to university
Laurent Simon is a boy from an ordinary Belgian family with very unusual abilities. At the age of 8, he managed to graduate from school, fall in love with mathematics and physics and develop an IQ of up to 145 points. After the summer holidays, Laurent is waiting for admission to the university, and the best universities in the world are ready to fight for him.

Laurent completed the school curriculum in 1.5 years, receiving a graduation diploma together with his 17-year-old classmates in Bruges. His mother is Dutch, his father is Belgian, and they are incredibly proud of their son.
Laurent began his school career at a gymnasium in Amsterdam when he was 6 years old. His favorite subject is mathematics. Speaking on Belgian radio, Laurent reasoned quite like an adult, telling about the triumph of the queen of sciences and that she covers a huge field: algebra, geometry, statistics.
At the end of the summer, the boy is waiting for admission to the university. His father wants it to be one of the universities in Belgium or the Netherlands, but offers to the young genius come from all over the world.
Laurent has not yet decided what he wants to study — perhaps it will be mathematics or physics. In the last months of his school life, the boy devoted a lot of time to natural sciences and mathematics, he liked these subjects.
As for his free time, Laurent spends it solving mathematical problems and reading books on medicine. In fact, he was never a child and even in early childhood was not interested in toys and games with other children.
With such prospects, Laurent probably shines with the glory of a Nobel laureate, the founder of an IT corporation, well, or the inventor of a cure for all diseases. The boy himself says that he wanted to become an astronaut or a surgeon, but now he is thinking about a career in computer science.
