8-year—old Anna Sakidon from the Volyn region died of old age - numerous dysfunctions of internal organs characteristic of elderly people. The girl suffered from progeria from birth, a rare genetic disease that has been recorded today in only 160 people worldwide.

Anna's mother, Ivanna, says that "she was ready to sacrifice everything so that her daughter would be healthy." According to Timofey Nagorny, the head of the Association of Ukrainian Volunteers who helped Anna's treatment, claims that her mother "all this time hoped that the doctors had made a mistake with her daughter's diagnosis."
Doctor Anna Kataman from the Volyn Regional Children's Hospital, says that the girl was treated there from birth.
In the video, where Anna is three years old, her mother says that from 10 months the girl could walk, and from 11 she followed her mother everywhere, although she was afraid of daylight, so she went out for a walk only in the evening. At the age of three, she was happy to hug and kiss her teddy bear, although she did not like to kiss people.
According to Dutch researchers, progeria is an extremely rare disease, it is noted in about 1 case per 20 million births.
