Who is Cintoya Brown, and why was she released early despite a life sentence for the murder of a sex client
Today, 31-year-old Cintoya Brown, who was previously sentenced to life imprisonment for prostitution, murder and robbery of one of her clients, will be released in the United States. The whole world started talking about the girl's story when socialite Kim Kardashian shared it on Twitter in November 2017. The celebrity called on other people to fight for Shintoi's release and even instructed her lawyers to take up the case.
Who is Cintoya Brown and why even the stars came to her defense, read in our material.
Cintoya Brown was born into a dysfunctional family. The girl's mother was an alcoholic. Soon she was deprived of her parental rights, and Cinta was adopted by a couple from Clarksville, Tennessee. However, Brown ran away from her guardians when she was still in elementary school and went to Nashville.

There she met a guy nicknamed "Cut throat" ("Cut throat"). He was a pimp and convinced Shinto to become a prostitute. The girl said that for a long time he instilled in her how disgusting she was, said that no one else would want or love her, convinced that some people were "born to become whores," and she was one of them.
So, even as a teenager, Shintoya began to engage in prostitution, but it did not last too long. In 2004, when the girl was 16 years old, she was charged with the murder of 43-year-old realtor Johnny Allen.
On August 6, Sintoya got into Allen's car, and they went to his house, where the girl had to satisfy the man's sexual desires, receiving $ 150 for it. However, when they were already in bed, the client reached for some object under the bed. Shintoya was scared and thought that Allen was pulling out a weapon. Then she grabbed a gun from her purse and shot the man, then took the money from him and fled the scene of the crime.
During the interrogation, Shintoya honestly confessed to what had happened and stated that her boyfriend forced her to prostitution. The girl willingly cooperated with the investigation and answered all questions, and her defense at the trial insisted on self-defense. Nevertheless, in 2006 she was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and robbery.
According to US law, she could ask for clemency only 51 years later, but in 2017 Kim Kardashian found out about the case, and then the situation radically changed. Other celebrities, including rapper Snoop Dogg, model Cara Delevingne, basketball player LeBron James and singer Rihanna, began to spread the story of Shinto on social networks. They launched a campaign called #FreeCyntoiaBrown, and a little later, a petition addressed to the US president even appeared on the Internet asking for the release of the girl.
In January of this year, the case of Cinto Brown was reviewed, and Tennessee Governor Bill Haslem issued a decree pardoning her. According to the governor, the punishment was "too severe". In addition, already outside the walls of the correctional institution, Brown "took many steps to rebuild her life."
On August 7, 2019, Cintoya Brown is due to be released. However, under the conditions of parole, she will spend the next 10 years under strict supervision.
