What is there - in the very center of Europe?..
Everyone knows that Russia is not Moscow. However, we rarely think about the fact that Europe is also far from just London, Paris and Berlin. To find out what is going on in the very heart of Europe, photographer Gert Verbelen decided to visit the geographical centers of each of the 18 EU countries, which he calculated with the help of a mathematician brother. Oddly enough, most often he found himself in the wildest backwoods, far from tourist routes.
"I myself live in a small village not far from Brussels," says the photographer, "which can in some way be considered the very center of Europe. Having gathered to visit all 18 countries, I specifically did not want to travel to capitals, big cities or attractions. Instead, I decided to visit one place in the heart of each of the countries, spend a week in each of them, study them properly and get to know the local population better."
