What does the world's most beautiful public toilet look like?
People love to surround themselves with beautiful things and exquisite interiors. Alas, not everyone can afford it. But if financial possibilities are not limited, then you can give free rein to the flight of design ideas. With the desire and appropriate investment, even a public toilet can be turned into a place from which you don’t want to leave at all. This is exactly what can be said about a bathroom in one of the shopping centers in the Chinese city of Nanjing.
The public toilet on the 6th floor of the Deji Plaza shopping center in Nanjing has been officially recognized as the most aesthetically pleasing in the world. A visitor who gets here by accident is more likely to think that this is a luxurious office of an international corporation, a museum of modern design, or the apartment of an eccentric rich man.
Visitors are greeted by a long corridor decorated with living plants. They are located in wall niches and on wide stands.
Underfoot, guests have a floor made of polished stone with an abstract pattern, and huge futuristic chandeliers and dozens of designer lamps hang above their heads.
At the end of a long corridor, designed as an “immersive garden”, there is a living room with a sofa in the shape of a flower with petals. This is a waiting room where visitors who did not plan to use the restroom can wait for their friends.
Washbasins in the form of fountains were placed in front of the entrance to the men's and women's toilets. They are located at different heights, so not only adults, but also children can use them.
The amazing restroom was designed by Shanghai design studio X+Living. The main designer of the project, Li Xiang, described the main idea of his project as follows:
Yes, there is no particular style to this fantastic restroom. This is an experiment designed to surprise people and change their attitude towards such a mundane place. The creators of this space succeeded. You can travel all over the world, but nowhere will you find a more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable public toilet.
If the most beautiful toilet is in China, then the most unusual ones can be seen in Japan.
