The winners of the Moldovan contest "Sober Family" received a prize and... finally got drunk
Sunny Moldova… A land of amazing wines and overly hospitable hosts. In the villages of winegrowers, sobriety is an unprecedented luxury, and experiments with a healthy lifestyle are encouraged financially. This is exactly what happened in the village of Pukhoy, where the local head of the administration, Pyotr Frunze, a teetotaler, philanthropist and athlete, decided to engage in an unequal battle with the "green snake".
The official promised a cash bonus of 1,000 lei (almost 4,000 rubles) to every resident of the village who can survive without alcohol for six months. For the Moldovan village, where most residents do not have a permanent job, such a competition is an attraction of unheard-of generosity, so many applicants decided to compete for the Grand Prix. From the mass of applicants, 20 of the most promising contestants were selected, who immediately began to perform a difficult and lengthy quest. One of the conditions of the competition was absolute control by the organizers. The check could descend on the participants' house at any time of the day. That is why most of the fighters for sobriety left the race very quickly, and some of them on the day of the start. Within a month, the ranks of the participants had thinned by half. Some of them were caught "hot" during a sudden check, others were handed over by envious neighbors. There were also those who came to the Frunze mayor themselves and refused further participation for health reasons.Residents of the Moldovan village of Puhoy — Ion and Svetlana Ungureanu
A couple raising two sons, the eldest of whom is in the third grade, even got a bonus after reaching the finish line – they got a job. Ion took up the improvement of his native village, and Svetlana went to work in the Chisinau Mother's Center as a nanny. The woman even organized a trip to the capital to get rid of problems with public transport and minimize communication with citizens not participating in the action.

The sad outcome of the story is still a negative, but indicative result. It is quite obvious that in order for a person to stop drinking and take up his mind, his own desire is necessary, and not material stimulation.
