The eco-activist boasted of a vegan dog and caused a storm of indignation on the web
Conservationist and committed vegan Suzanne Pierce describes herself as a "crazy plant lover" on her Twitter account. The girl does not get tired of convincing everyone around that giving up animal food can be painless for anyone. The other day, to prove her case once again, Suzanne posted a photo of her vegan dog. To Pierce's surprise, this post did not cause admiration at all and reproaches fell on her from all sides.
The post of October 10, in which Suzanne once again talked about the advantages of giving up animal proteins, she illustrated with a picture of her vegan dog. The dog is dressed in a walking suit, on top of which there is a note with the text: "If I can be a vegan, then you can!".
The girl accompanied the photo with a small explanation: "I attract the dog to the political agenda" and the hashtag #Extinction, which is used by activists fighting global warming, ocean pollution and species extinction. Most supporters of the Extinction Rebellion movement are vegatarians and vegans.
But with her post, Pierce caused not the support and affection of social network users, but their anger. It must be said that the conscious choice of a person who does not eat meat because of his beliefs and forcing pets to this type of food is not the same thing at all.
As you can see, even colleagues did not support the author of the post, accusing her not only of bullying animals, but also of profanation of the very ideas of veganism, which are based on caring for our younger brothers.
Cats and dogs, being predators, should receive a full-fledged diet for their species, which is based on meat. Even considering that some experts tend to classify modern dogs as omnivores, it is impossible to completely deprive them of meat.
Users noticed that the dog in the photo has a deeply unhappy look, and many even decided that the dog is sick with something. Journalist and presenter Piers Morgan joined the discussion of the post, who also noted that he had never seen a sadder dog in his life.
In general, the activist's post caused a completely unexpected effect for her, the opposite of what was intended. Instead of admiring the vegan dog, commentators began to hate Suzanne and demand that she stop mocking the poor animal.
Recently, the actions of vegans and activists are more likely to cause confusion and condemnation than support. Take at least the wild case of the abduction of rabbits from the farm, which led to the saddest consequences for animals.
