The 10 most popular artists of all time on the Billboard charts
On July 20, 1940, the American music magazine Billboard published its first list of the most popular songs. For several decades, the Billboard Hot 100 has been the de facto official hit parade in the United States, the largest national music market in the world. It also served as the prototype for many similar charts based on worldwide sales results. An archive of charts from previous decades is a fairly accurate indicator of an artist's popularity in the US. We have collected 10 artists who own the largest number of songs that hit the first place on the chart.
