Stallone misses a long-dead friend, whom he sold in a difficult moment

Actor Sylvester Stallone, whom everyone knows from his role in the Rocky films, recently posted an incredibly touching post on Instagram about his dog Butkus of the bullmastiff breed, which he had many years ago.

Stallone is now 70 years old, but when he was 26, he didn't have a penny for his soul, he was sinking lower and lower, he had only two pairs of trousers, leaky shoes, and dreams of success seemed very far away. Only the dog who supported him morally, giving him his sincere and direct love, which can only be felt from a dog, did not let him get discouraged at all.

Prepare handkerchiefs, because it's very touching. So many years have passed, the dog has been dead for a long time, but Stallone still periodically publishes their joint photos and remembers a friend with a kind word…

We were both skinny, hungry, and lived in a flophouse above a subway station. I said that hot and cold cockroaches flow from the tap in this apartment. In short, there wasn't much to do except spend time with each other, and that's when I started learning the craft of screenwriting. Since I never hung out, I relied on his company, and it was actually his idea to write "Rocky", just don't tell anyone…

A few years later, when things got even worse, I had to sell it for $40 in front of a 7-Eleven store because I had nothing to buy food with. Then a real miracle happened and managed to sell the script of "Rocky". I was able to buy Butkus back, but the new owner knew that I was desperate, and tore off 15 thousand dollars from me… He was worth every cent!"

When I was 26, I was absolutely penniless, I was sinking to the bottom very quickly, I had two pairs of trousers that barely fit on me, leaky shoes, and the dream of becoming successful was as far away as the sun… But I had my dog, Butkus, my best friend, my companion, who always laughed at my jokes, put up with my temper and was the only living soul who loved me for what I am!"

Interesting from the point of view of my personal development and my dogs… This is me and my Wonderful Dog, Butkus, in New York a few years before the idea of "Rocky" was born in my head. We, completely beggars and, apparently, terribly dressed and quite hungry, went out on our daily business on the street…

Although I have achieved great success and been blessed, I seem to miss these cold morning walks with my four-legged friend! We really spent 24 hours a day together, we were inseparable. You can say that this is the best friend, I loved him, and I will never have such a dog again..."

"Rocky" won an Oscar, and Butkus even managed to star in the first two parts. The dog died in 1981.
