She is 54, but everyone takes her son for a boyfriend
Radiant skin, thick hair and not a single wrinkle: a 54-year-old British woman knows how to pass for a woman half her age. Pamela Jay from Yorkshire looks so young that she is mistaken for the girlfriend of her 22-year-old son. An unmarried mother is happy to share beauty secrets: it's all about daily yoga classes, healthy eating and coconut oil.
"People often think I'm lying when they find out my age. Sometimes they are so shocked that I almost have to get my passport to convince them. Sometimes even I look in the mirror myself and don't believe that I'm already 54 years old! I'm not sure I look the same as when I was in my twenties, although people tell me that. It seems to me that I would pass for a woman who is thirty-something, judging by my inner feelings," Pamela shares.

Pamela proudly shares her beauty secrets. She gets up at six in the morning and starts the day with a healthy breakfast of rustic eggs and gluten-free toast with black coffee with a spoonful of coconut oil.
In the evenings, the woman exfoliates the skin with a dry brush, takes a shower, uses a scrub and moisturizes the skin with coconut oil. All this takes about an hour. Pamela says that it is coconut oil that helps her look so good at 54.
"I use it everywhere — for the body, for hair, for food. It's wonderful, it costs about 15 pounds per jar and lasts for about six weeks. This is really a miracle remedy. I use many other means as well. I don't buy them often, but when I do have to, I buy good funds that last for a long time."
"It takes me five minutes to completely put on makeup. In addition, I use a sunscreen every day. I use SPF 50 Dermalogica for the face and Korres for the body. I really like to sunbathe, but it is important to protect myself from UV rays. Whenever possible, I try to use natural brands and products without parabens," says Pamela.
According to her, a healthy diet is also very important for preserving youth. "I try to eat clean and organic food and eat a lot of salad and healthy proteins. I usually have breakfast with rustic eggs and gluten—free toast, washed down with a glass of coconut water with the addition of liquid iron, and then I cook a salad for lunch every day," she says.
"I usually cook something from organic cabbage, spinach, arugula, cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, red pepper and avocado, adding pumpkin and sunflower seeds as a crispy ingredient and salmon, eggs or chicken as a protein component."
"A handful of almonds is also a very good snack to maintain vigor on busy days. I try not to eat a lot of sugar or flour, as it causes bloating. I use a lot of spices in my dishes, such as ginger, cumin and turmeric, which work as food additives."
"Dinner usually consists of fatty fish, organic chicken or beef steak with lots of vegetables. I try to stick to the 80/20 rule — I'm strict with myself 80% of the time, but I allow myself a pudding or a piece of bitter chocolate from time to time, if I feel like it."
Pamela drinks several liters of filtered water every day, goes to fitness and yoga classes every week, and also stretches in the mornings and evenings and meditates.
In addition, she goes to the gym once a week, where she steams in the sauna, after which she takes an ice shower to keep her skin toned. Once a week Pamela takes a detox bath with pink Himalayan salt crystals and makes face and hair masks.
"In the end, it all depends on my proper diet and lifestyle. If I ate unhealthily all the time, I would hardly look and feel so good. I think I've always looked younger than my years, but obviously I'm well preserved for my age. I think laughter is very useful. I have a crazy sense of humor, and I laugh all the time, I try to see the positive side in life," Pamela admits.
Such a stunningly young appearance has its downsides. Pamela says that sometimes it's hard to date men, because she is liked by those who are several decades younger than her. "Many men who approach me are younger, sometimes they are in their thirties. When I tell them how old I am, they are surprised and immediately tell their friends about it. They think I'm making it up all the time, they don't believe me. I even had to show my driver's license several times! I'm not perfect and I don't think I look as young as some people tell me, but I'm really proud of the way I look."
