Sex with Flea's sister and dressing up as mom: the secrets of Anthony Kiedis from Red Hot Chili Peppers
The memoirs of the soloist of the cult group Red Hot Chili Peppers Anthony Kiedis were published in Russian, in which the musician revealed many scandalous details from his biography and the history of the band. It turns out that the history of the team began with a series of accidents, and not always pleasant ones. We have selected 6 facts from Kiedis ' book, which, in our opinion, are the most interesting.
On the first day of high school, Anthony came to the wrong educational institution, which the curator told him about. Therefore, the future rocker got into his class only on the second day of study and, as it turned out, all the guys at that time had already managed to move and split into companies.
Kiedis decided to join the outsiders and began to defend their interests in front of other classmates. Sometimes I had to use my fists as well. This is how Anthony met the future bass guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and a friend for life. Flea, then known as Michael Balzary, ran up to a guy from Kiedis ' company at recess and grabbed him by the neck.
Anthony rushed to defend his friend with his fists, but it turned out that Michael and his victim were good friends, and the capture was friendly. In the book, Kiedis described his impressions of the first meeting as follows:
When Anthony and Flea began to be friends, they often spent the night at each other's house. One day, when Kiedis stayed the night with a friend, Michael's older sister began to show signs of attention to him. In the end, it all ended with spontaneous sex. Many years later, Flea admitted that he watched his friend and sister through the window that night.
Kiedis Sr. was convicted of drug possession and even spent a little time in prison. Once he called a prostitute, but he did not like the girl. Then Anthony's father simply suggested that she snort cocaine right at his house. The girl was scared and ran away from a dangerous client in a panic.
The prostitute called the police and the cops found drugs in Kiedis ' house. The star's father was not in prison for long — he was released on bail, but this seriously hit the budget of a poor family. In order to start earning money as soon as possible, young Anthony became a regular at auditions, where actors were selected for TV series and shows. Here he plays a guy in a red T-shirt.
One day, Kiedis and Flea went to a ski resort with a group. The guys didn't have any cash, but Flea managed to steal Mom's credit card. To the disappointment of friends, the girl at the ski rental point refused to serve them, explaining that only her owner can pay with a card.
To imitate the chest, Kiedis stuffed the hats and gloves of his comrades into his bosom. A young man in disguise broke into the rental office and severely scolded the girl:
As you may have guessed, the scam was a success and the company managed to pay for the ammunition with someone else's card.
Hillel Slovak, the future guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, studied with Kiedis and Flea at the same school. Anthony writes that when he first talked to this guy, he was amazed at how different he was from everyone he had known before:
One day, Kiedis and his friends decided to fool around and created a "one-time" group with the strange name Flow & the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem, which means "Tony Flow and the wonderful majestic masters of mayhem". During the first concert, Anthony Kiedis simply read poems to the inept musical improvisations of Flea and Slovak.
Only 30 people came to the band's performance, but it was difficult to call this debut a failure. The guys were asked to perform again, and then again... and in 1983, the Red Hot Chili Peppers appeared. We can only remember what these guys looked like at the very beginning of their stellar career.
