Safety box: plexiglass boxes were invented in Italy for beach holidays during the pandemic

In all countries of the world that are struggling with the pandemic, people are being asked to keep a social distance. While no cure for COVID-19 has yet been found, such measures will have to be followed until the end of the emergency. In one of the regions of Italy, a plan was presented on how to give tourists the opportunity to relax on the seashore without fear of contracting coronavirus. The designers proposed to create plexiglass boxes and install them on public beaches.

The idea was proposed by the Italian company Nuova Neon Group Due, which operates in the city of Modena. First, the developers created plexiglass security screens for pharmacies and banks across the country, and now they plan to make boxes for the beach out of it.

The height of the walls of the box is 2 meters, and the width is 4.5 meters. People will be able to comfortably stay inside, relaxing on the seashore. Local media called this construction a "chicken coop".

Such ideas may become the new norm, because some experts suggest that it will be necessary to observe social distance until 2022. Scientists predict that if a cure for COVID-19 is not found, the outbreak of the disease may repeat in 2025.

Meanwhile, Russian designers have created a protective cardboard mask with a replaceable filter. It reduces the risk of respiratory coronavirus invasion and the spread of infection through close contact.
