Russian photographers have won the national prize of the Sony World Photography Awards photo contest
Three Russian photographers have received the Sony World Photography Awards "National Award" for amateur photography. The jury of the photo contest chose Alexander Vinogradov with the picture "Matilda" as the winner in the category "Portraits". The second place in the category "Still Life" was taken by Sergey Dibtsev, the third place was taken by Ivan Turukhano.

Source: worldphoto.orgVinogradov and Dibtsev were included in the list of the ten best amateur photographers from around the world according to the Sony competition jury. Their photos were selected, competing with 105 thousand works from other authors from around the world.
The photographers who entered the final ten will receive a camera from Sony and take part in the competition for the best amateur photographer. The winner will be announced on April 20 in London, and the works of the contestants will be exhibited at the Somerset House Cultural Center from April 21 to May 7.

According to Dibtsev, the photo taken in 2016 shows the end of the relationship. In the picture, the author himself acts as an artist, and his girlfriend — as a muse.

Vinogradov's picture titled "Matilda" depicts a girl Nastya, whom he photographed in a Moscow studio. According to the author, the inspiration for the picture was the film "Leon", in which the young Natalie Portman played the main role.

The picture of Ivan Turukhano was taken in 2016 in the space of the residential complex "House on Mosfilmovskaya".
