Specialists of the Federal State Statistics Service (to put it more simply, Rosstat) shared the data of an interesting study. In the report published on the agency's website, you can see how the nutrition of the country's residents has changed since 1980.

Judging by the statistics, Russians began to eat much better, but netizens categorically disagree with this statement, however, as well as with the report itself.

According to statistics, over the years, the nutrition of Russians has improved markedly. And this applies not only to the quantity, but also to the quality of products. Residents of the country began to pay more attention to the benefits of the diet: if 40 years ago the average person ate 117 kilograms of potatoes a year, now it is a modest 59 kg. But fruit and berries, on the contrary, have become much more — 74 kg against 35.

In addition, modern Russians are more willing to eat fish (22 kg vs. 17) and meat (89 and 70 kg, respectively). The number of vegetables and melons in the diet has also increased (92 and 104 kg).

At the same time, people stopped eating bread. If in 1980 one Russian had 112 kg of bread, now only 96. Although slightly, the amount of sugar consumed decreased — 31 kg against 35. Considering that this "enemy of the figure" is hiding in almost all finished products, we can say that this is a rather unexpected result.

Russians also reduced their appetites for dairy products (390 kg now, 266 kg earlier) and eggs (286 and 231 pieces, respectively).

It should be noted that many netizens found the results of the study, to put it mildly, unreliable.

Here are the comments left by users. Do you agree with the results of the study?
