Oxford. Oxford University. Christmas Knowledge Day
Aleksey Solomatin writes: “In Oxford, we managed to visit Christ Church College, where the Harry Potter episodes were filmed, and Trinity College, famous for its famous alumni. Of course, Oxford is known primarily for its university. The university, in turn, consists of faculties and 38 colleges. You can read in detail about their structure and titles of Oxford University here.
It so happened that we arrived in Oxford on Christmas Day, December 25th, the weather was excellent and the streets of the city were deserted. Well, just a paradise for a tourist with a camera.”

Source: Journal / solomatin1. The architecture in the center of Oxford is simply amazing
2. Owners and tenants of buildings are prohibited from changing the appearance and they are required to maintain everything in its original form. For example, Oxford Russian Post
3. And here is The Randolph Restaurant. Pay attention to the front door. In the Middle Ages, doors were opened up with a cable. Tall doorway abandoned and restored by owners
4. England breathes tradition. They are in everything, including the details. Bench

11. Let's look at least through the peephole
12. From Wikipedia, I learned that it is here that the events described in the work “Alice in Wonderland” by the famous English writer Lewis Carroll take place. By the way, he was a graduate of this college in his youth. Christ Church College is also proud of the record number of graduates who have served as Prime Minister of Great Britain, there were thirteen of them.

21. Behind the rotunda to the east lies the College of All Saints (All Souls College)
22. In the absence of a “eye”, we look over the fence
23. We continue the walk. This bridge reminded me a lot of the famous Venetian Rialto bridge
24. Through an incredibly narrow street…..
25. we get to the small and famous Turf Tavern (Turf Tavern)
26. There are signs hanging on the walls of the tavern, what it is famous for and which of the public people visited it. For example, this tavern was a favorite place of former US President Bill Clinton during his studies at Oxford University.
27. Further through another narrow lane we get to a nice hotel
28. So we went to the building of the Sheldon Theater founded in the 17th century
29. Terrible frame
30. Classic is always in fashion
31. I could not help but show you these cute birds
The end point of our walk was Trinity College. It was founded in the 16th century and produced quite a few famous graduates. Among them were cardinals and politicians, scientists and musicians. It's the only college you could get into on Christmas Day.
32. In the main courtyard of the college, we were struck by a chic huge Christmas tree with big cones

35. On the territory of the college there is a bust of Cardinal Newman, a graduate of this college.
