Orthodox surfer
Writer and surfer Gai Stinberg set out to capture on film the life of an ultra-Orthodox Jew who manages to combine his religion and loyalty with an unstoppable love of surfing. Steenberg's photographs show different aspects of the life of 34-year-old Meir. In some pictures he is surfing the sea waves on the board, while in others he follows all the rules of the dress code during religious teachings. “As long as the sea and waves make me happy, I will surf … and study the Bible,” Meir says.

1. Shtinberg followed the unusual life of the orthodox for half a year.
2. He witnessed how this orthodox combines his spiritual habits with rest, despite the fact that these people consider rest "a waste of time."

5. During his travels around the world, he met his future wife Nava (formerly Melanie) in the Philippines.
6. Now these two have adopted a unique lifestyle in Jerusalem with their 6 children. This lifestyle includes both Judaism and surfing.
7. “This is a very unusual person, both religiously and among his surfing friends,” says the photographer.
