Two British pensioners were arrested during a cruise. The police seized cocaine worth 1 million pounds (80.5 million rubles) from them, which, according to the couple, was given to them by a mysterious businessman from Jamaica.

72-year-old former chef Roger Clarke told the cops that a man named Lee paid him and his wife for a cruise to the Caribbean islands worth 6800 pounds (550,000 rubles). The stranger allegedly asked them to buy exotic fruits for sale in the UK. Then the intermediary gave the pensioners "empty" boxes in Saint Lucia.

Investigators believe that the Clark couple transported drugs from South America to Europe. They first transported cocaine by plane in early 2017, and then began traveling on cruise liners to transport more drugs.

Mrs. Clark claims that she saw a man named Lee, who handed over the boxes, and his wife only once, and did not know about the drugs.

The British National Crime Agency, which contacted Portuguese colleagues, does not comment on whether they have received detailed information about the Clark case.

Drug dealers are those who are least suspected. The criminal from Wales could not be caught by the British police for a long time, until his girlfriend boasted of new photos of a luxurious life with her boyfriend on Instagram. Because of the girl's vanity, the young man went to jail for a long time.
