Professional photographer Giedre Gomes, who shoots the most beautiful photo shoots with children, mothers and pregnant women, wanted to share shots that are dramatically different from her usual work. Instead of embellished perfect photos, Hydra showed what usually remains behind the scenes and what numerous women's publications are silent about.
"Everyone around says what a special experience it is - motherhood and the connection that only a mother has with a child. This connection is unlike anything in the world. I love being a mom, it's the best job in the world. I have two sons, and I love them very much, but still motherhood is not all rainbows and butterflies.
Being a mother means not remembering the last time you got enough sleep at night, and wiping up so many, sorry, poop that you couldn't imagine. This is a complete lack of personal space — no trips to the toilet or shower alone."
When the children are asleep, you study literature, how to raise children and not go crazy, pouring wine.
Being a mother means being a nurse around the clock and using your clothes as a handkerchief, rag and bib.
But in the end, as the photographer herself admits, she would never change anything. Because being a mother is a great love, joy, as well as responsibility and dedication.
