Nice terrorist attack: a truck crashed into a crowd at Bastille Day celebrations
At least 84 people were killed and more than 50 injured in a terrorist attack during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice. First, a 25-ton truck crashed into a crowd and drove one and a half kilometers at a speed of more than 60 km /h, crushing people in its path, after which the driver got out of the car and started shooting at the celebrants. One of the eyewitnesses, describing what was happening, said that people were falling like skittles, and that he heard sounds and screams that he would never be able to forget. Later, identification documents of a 31-year-old Frenchman of Tunisian origin were found in the bullet-riddled cab of the truck. The man who was driving was shot to death by the police. According to police sources, the shooter is from Nice and has already had problems with the police due to thefts and attacks, but has not previously attracted the attention of special services. The suspected accomplice fled the scene of the crime and was put on the wanted list. A large stock of firearms, grenades and larger weapons was found in the truck.
