Neither Trump nor Medvedev coped with the group handshake
On Sunday, November 12, world leaders gathered at the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. At some point, the politicians needed to do a group "ASEAN handshake", crossing their hands over the body, and something went wrong: for both Donald Trump and Dmitry Medvedev, the task turned out to be too difficult.
Donald Trump had to cross arms with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang. A well-known lover of dominant handshakes found himself in unfamiliar territory and was clearly embarrassed.
However, the US president at least tried to do what was required of him, and the Russian Prime minister did not even bother and just took the neighbors by the hand.
Dmitry Medvedev flew to the Philippines on November 12 to sign deals with the country's government on transport, energy and education.
