Made in Churchill: appliances for half a century, and works like new
It is said that earlier the grass was greener and water is wet... And household appliances were apparently more reliable. Here's proof: 80-year-old British couple for more than 50 years did not change its appliances. Everything still works perfectly, but the couple decided to sell the Antiques to slightly update the kitchen.
Sidney Saunders ' 83, and his wife Rachel — 81. They have been married for more than 60 years and during that time lived in Exeter in the South of England. They recently put up for sale a tumble dryer, boiler, cooker and washing machine production 1950-ies.
Much of the couple purchased shortly after the wedding in 1956.
All the equipment that made even the Prime Minister Churchill, is in working condition.
Even of the user is preserved.
Rachel told me that my old washing machine was not used for almost 12 years. The motor runs, the machine is working, only a little leaking: you have to put a rag. But the dryer was last used about two months ago.
According to spouses, they are not interested in the big money: ready to sell appliances for the same amount that I bought them in the 50's and 60's, and I hope that they will go to a Museum or private collection.
