Japanese woman brought her grandfather back to life by giving him a kitten
Japanese Akiko Yamaguchi works as a documentary photographer under the pseudonym DuPont. In recent years, she often films her grandfather Gigi in the company of a red cat named Kinako. These seemingly unremarkable shots are actually filled with poignant meaning.
Akiko's grandfather, a participant in World War II, did not retire until a very old age and continued to work in production. But in 2009, he began to have serious health problems, and he ended up in the hospital for several weeks. As a result, the disease receded, but Gigi could no longer work. By then, he was a widower. Life for my grandfather has lost all meaning. He was gloomy and unsociable.
Then Akiko decided to give him a kitten so that Gigi would have someone to take care of. But she had never dreamed of such a transformation of her grandfather. Gigi and Kinako became close friends. 94-year-old man has learned to smile again…
Gigi and Kinako almost always sleep together.
Sometimes even in the same position.
Usually the cat wakes up earlier.
And guards the peace of a friend.
When Gigi gets up, it's time for breakfast.
This is a typical Japanese menu.
But to catch the moment to photograph what Kinako eats is not so easy: he eats all the treats instantly.
After breakfast, everyone goes about their business.
In the late afternoon, Grandpa takes up his favorite activity — making newspaper clippings.
Four-legged helps as much as possible…
...in the hope that he will get something delicious.
However, Kinako is not overzealous.
It is not enough for a long time.
The cat is always somewhere nearby.
Gigi's granddaughter says that when she looks at the couple, her heart warms.
